This Wild Ride

One day I felt dead. So dead I could hardly move about.

I was tired and sore and afraid. I bowed my head and prayed.

I can struggle against what I can't control,

Or I can let go and let You take care.

It's kind of weird how life  is spinning wild or resting calm.

I can't take it always, yet I simply have to, so I do.

Some times I can't hear, and then all I hear is so much noise.

Fear still tends to try to stop me, but I'll step on up.

The Future

So, I sit here and stare at the bleak gray sky. 

I stare at the keyboard

I stare at the future

I wonder what the future is. 

But it ain’t because it isn’t

Not yet

It’s a strange concept

We talk about the future, but what is that?

What is the future?

The future isn’t because it hasn’t come yet

It’s non-existent, and yet we know it will come. 

It is existent, yet it is not

The future is not

The past was

The present is.

But the future? It doesn't exist because it hasn't come yet

And when it does it still won't exist

Because it will be the present.

Emeralds

Emeralds must be green because this place is just one giant emerald of beautiful green stuff. 

Rare

Rare pain

produces

Rare jewels

So, don't be afraid when fire flares and the heat grows stronger.

Your crowns will be brighter still and your heart grow stronger.
